If you’re reading this, you’re probably someone who wants to live a physically fit lifestyle or probably are living one. The importance of physical fitness today is highlighted more than ever. Many people are starting to recognize how important it is to workout and to be consistent in our workouts. So we join gyms, pay monthly, quarterly, yearly memberships.
But how many are actually able to get to the gym everyday or even 3-4 times a week after a long hard day’s work? We feel tired, we feel EXHAUSTED. We think “I’m too tired to workout today, I’ll just make it up tomorrow”. Of course, for many, the cycle keeps repeating and before you know it, your yearly gym membership has expired with you having used it for less than a week or a month.
Now, while joining a gym has it benefits, those benefits usually apply to people who actually are able to be there frequently. And by frequently I mean everyday for hours or at least an hour.
For those who can’t do that, due to having other responsibilities, but still want the benefits of working out, you have the next best thing. A Home Gym.
What’s a Home Gym?
To put it simply, A Home Gym is a set of equipment that can be used to do various exercises at home, making it more convenient for anyone to workout. A Home Gym can consist of a machine or it can be a set of free weights with some additional accessories.
So let’s get to the benefits of a Home Gym, shall we?
Many people often don’t like working out in full view of others. It just doesn’t feel right. It feels awkward. If you feel the same, then having a home gym definitely is for you.
This is something that you won’t get in gyms. Freedom to play any music you want. Freedom to do certain workouts that a often banned in some franchise/commercial gyms. For example, some gyms ban heavy weights and instead prefer to push their clients into aerobic classes and other extra curricular activities that won’t help you achieve your goals. Plus, most commercial gyms and franchise gyms have more cardio machines than they do squat racks.
This is one of the main reasons why having a home gym is the best choice. With a home gym, there won’t be any excuse left for you to not workout. Too tired from work? You can always fit in a workout session before you go to work. Since you have a gym in your own home, you won’t be wasting time driving or walking to the gym, saving you a lot of time as well. You can even fit a small session of 30minutes to an hour before going to bed.
4- You own your equipment and it’s cleaner.
Another benefit of having a home gym is that, you will never have to wait for someone to be done with their workout so you can have your turn and you won’t be rushed by someone else to finish yours. There won’t be some dude sweating on your bench and not even clean up afterwards.
Equipment in gyms, often are targeted towards a general population. But when you create your own home gym, you can customize what you want to add, according to your goals and according to your needs.
The last but not the least, in fact the most important factor to keep in mind. As mentioned before, not all those who join a gym are able to attend it everyday, which leads to their memberships getting expired without having used it at all. A home gym, is a one time investment. You get the equipment you need, you workout any time. It’s a long term investment and as long as you take care of your equipment, you will get the most out of it. No renewals, no monthly/yearly debits from your bank account. A free gym for a lifetime, from the comfort of your home.
So, there you have it. The benefits of having a home gym. For someone who has a home gym myself, I can say it’s pretty awesome.
So if you have enough space to accommodate some weights and a bar, you should definitely give it a try and set it up. These things will pay for themselves.
If you’re a beginner, you should start with something simple and then add on from there.
Here’s a good set to start with. It’s affordable and it’s a good way to take the first step towards your personalized Home Gym.
